Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy involves forming a relationship with a psychotherapist who specializes in creating a safe, respectful and caring space for you to discover new ways of being in your life to serve you better.

Feelings of depression, anxiety, guilt, fear, trauma, stress, and low self-esteem are what some of us battle with every day, thereby blocking access to our desire for joy, peace and fulfillment.

Most therapies, in some form or another, promote an increased awareness/insight into the hidden and not so hidden parts of us. This includes symptoms and defenses, and exploring the depths of the mechanisms in place that protect us from further pain.

As we become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, actions, perceptions, and experiences, we tend to have a greater acceptance of the choices we make in life which contributes to a potent sense of wellbeing.

The goal of therapy is to re-discover your own self to help guide you in the directions you need to go towards, and to cultivate trusting your own self more fully in order to make your own decisions.

There are many different theories guiding therapists in their practice of psychotherapy – behavioural, cognitive behavioural, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and systems approaches to name a few. Hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic programming and Past Life Regression are other effective healing components of psychotherapy.
